Due to rapid organic growth, Rice & Dore are now looking for a Research Associate for their US office. Successful candidates will be rewarded with early responsibility, opportunities for international travel and rapid progression within the firm.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

The Research Associate (RA) will play an integral role in the strategy of Rice & Dore.  We run a rigorous search strategy which is very research intensive.  The RA will be expected to work on a variety of search assignments and strategic projects across all geographies and firm business areas.  By aiding and leading the gathering of competitive intelligence around industries, companies and top executives, the RA will help deliver upon our clients needs and objectives.

  • Undertaking research, through interviewing, telephone referencing and taking qualitative views from market sources (primary research) to source candidates to fill roles for R&D consultants and clients.
  • Supporting business teams and our clients in the identification of top industry performers and top talent pools in the industry.
  • Market mapping and forensic analysis, including strategic overviews, market and product intelligence reports and profiles of market leaders.
  • Assistance in executing search mandates through candidate identification, approach and development process.
  • Pre-pitch/origination researching and due diligence.
  • Strategic projects.
  • Leading retained consulting projects for new business opportunities.
  • Formulating competitor analyses.
  • Telephone referencing to gather additional information on candidates and companies.
  • Developing strong network of market sources.
  • Developing broad understanding of financial markets and specific product areas.
  • Assisting the Head of Research with the training of individuals coming through the RA program.

Education and Work Experience:

Mandatory

Graduate from a leading university.

Sound understanding of research methodology, ideally with a consulting/market research, competitive intelligence, financial services or recruiting focus.

Understanding and interest in the financial markets preferred.

Experience working in a strong team orientated, global environment.

Desirable

Research experience or intern experience at a financial institution/recruitment agency and/or pressurised environment.

Masters degree in a relevant discipline.

Skills & Knowledge
Mandatory

Ability to network with senior executives in the financial services industry either via the phone or through face to face meetings.

Experience in querying and utilizing industry-related databases, websites and other research related materials.

Ability to synthesize and analyze data from different, disparate sources and delivering actionable research products for the team.

Understanding and interest in building detailed market research products for internal and external clients.
